This solder sucker is amazing. It has an amazing amount of suction, which works very well to suck up molten solder from joints one is trying to unsolder. I used to have an old radio-shack style metal cylinder sucker that I can no longer locate. So I went ahead and bought this one after reading through some of the reviews online. The reviews did not lie, this is a very good solder sucker with lots of suction. Compared to the old RS unit it is like night and day. If you are still using a sucker with weak suction, you would be well suited to go ahead and buy one of these, as the difference is well worth the price of this unit.Plus, it is made in the USA, which is a major added plus.Edit: I’ve now had the opportunity to use the Soldapullt several times to desolder components for diagnostics/repair, and it does an absolutely amazing job of removing the solder. Heat the joint with an iron, put the tip against the joint and press the release button, and all the molten solder is sucked away. It is so effective that I’ve actually had a couple components simply fall out under their own weight when sucking the solder off the last joint. This tool is highly recommended and **well worth** the price. You will not be disappointed in how well the tool accomplishes its job.
