I can’t explain why other manufactures charge twice as much for half the product but somehow these guys seem to make a better product at half the price than the original manufacturer of this category of tool.After 20 years of occasional use my old desoldering tool needed a new o-ring. The manufacturer charges $4.00 for a replacement o-ring plus another $5.00 to ship it. Their new product is $15. I purchased this “knockoff” for about half of that.I was expecting a cheap Chinese knockoff. What the pictures don’t show is that this is a substantially larger tube than the standard “blue” plastic solder suction tools everyone knows who I am referring to, their name begins with an ‘E’. The larger tube provides for much greater suction power than any other spring suction desoldering tool I’ve ever used. In fact, it works as well as machine powered tools I used in my professional life. Upon my first use I was impressed by the fact that it needed only one pass to remove all the molten solder. Let’s say I started out doubting the suitability of this tool but walked away feeling that I got a great value.;
