I really wanted this to be a good power supply as the quality seems very nice compared to others I have purchased of the same specifications in recent years (I have bought far more than I would like to admit). However despite having bought so many of these throughout the years I have never received one that maxed out at 12.15 volts.. anybody that knows anything about electricity knows that voltage drop is very real; especially at these high currents. You could run a double zero gauge solid copper wire 50 ft and have more voltage drop than .5 volts at 30 amps. In other words if you’re appliance requires an actual 12 volts or if you are looking to charge any 12 volt battery then this power supply probably won’t work. I have a 30 amp isdt charger that requires 35 amps input to run at max power however as soon as the power supply reaches 11.9 volts of voltage drop at the charger then charger shuts down. I have used this smart charger for years and have never once had an issue with any of the power supplies I’ve used it on. And I would run other things simultaneously from the same Chinese power supply. If you run 12v LEDs with this power supply then they are going to be dimmer by up to 30%. I prefer to keep my electronics around 12.7 to 12.8 vdc. There is no need to go down to 8 volts or whatever this thing goes to it is just ridiculous to call this a 12 volt power supply. You can very carefully do the math and change out a resistor but I wouldn’t recommend anybody I know to do that crap… I could do it but I don’t have time for little issues like this when I can buy the cheap Chinese power supply for less money and works far better even at slightly less quality. Not sure what got into these power supplies but they should really get a grip on it because this problem will only grow more severe as smart voltage technology advances. I am giving this a four-star review because while I dislike this power supply a lot it is still useful if you don’t mind running at low voltages. It just isn’t for me and the review would have easily been one star if the seller didn’t give me a unrequested refund. The seller isn’t knowledgeable at all about the components in this thing so he issued me a full refund instead of answering my question which it’s whatever I guess no harm no foul probably a good business move on his call but hopefully they do some follow-up improvements to the power supply itself and we will all be happy.
