I grow thousands of out her plant seedlings and I prefer to use a heat mat while germinating them. The past few mats have fallen short because they use a thermostat that must be inserted into the soil to read the temp. While this may not seem like a big deal, I’ve had the sensor come out before and narrowly avoided frying my seedlings!These mats however use a dial that you can tune to perfectly set your desired temperature (I use a laser thermometer for soil temps) not only is that helpful but it makes it much simpler to achieve your desired results.Another thing I really like about these mats is they are not bulky at all. The technology they use is infrared and not heat coils. Which means it’s EVEN HEAT and with no hot spots like coil mats have. I feel like that’s a much safer option as heat coils, while rare, can short out. They do take slightly longer to reach peak heat but does a few extra minutes really matter when germinating seeds?
